FERGUSSON WELCOMES NEW LUCE BROADBAND COMMITMENT
Galloway and Upper Nithsdale MSP Alex Fergusson has welcomed the announcement that the upgrading of the telephone exchange in New Luce is included in the next tranche of works. Following the announcement Mr Fergusson said:-
“I am delighted that it is now New Luce’s turn to benefit from an upgrade to its exchange which will allow access to Broadband speeds of up to 8Mbps, depending on the distance from the exchange. This will bring long-awaited relief for many people in the area and provide a great boost for the increasing number of micro-businesses that are playing an evermore important part in our local economy. I understand that the work is to be completed by the end of November, and I have no doubt that it cannot come soon enough for those still dependent on dial-up systems.”
