FERGUSSON TO LAUNCH NEWTON STEWART WALKING FESTIVAL
Galloway and Upper Nithsdale MSP Alex Fergusson will be officially launching the Newton Stewart Walking Festival at Cunningham's Outdoor Centre on Saturday 12th December at 11a.m. Speaking in advance of the event, Mr Fergusson said:-
"I am very pleased to have been asked to officially launch the increasingly successful Newton Stewart Walking Festival, especially as we will be simultaneously launching Newton Stewart as a member of the 'Walkers are Welcome' Network. As one of only 4 Scottish members of this network, it should enable the town to focus even more attention on the very considerable walking opportunities that exist in and around Newton Stewart - the gateway to the Galloway Hills. Walking is a growing holiday activity, and there can be few better parts of the country to walk in, so I am delighted to help to raise the profile of the Walking Festival in this way".
